Mountainfilm on Tour showcases a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the annual Mountainfilm festival held in Telluride, Colorado.

Bud Werner Memorial Library is the host of the Mountainfilm on Tour program in Steamboat Springs.

In lieu of a traditional in-person gathering, the Bud Werner Memorial Library will be hosting a virtual screening of Mountainfilm on Tour with an inspiring program of films that explore themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission of using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.

Bud Werner Memorial Library has been hosting Mountainfilm on Tour for a decade, as part of the library's mission to promote enrichment, education and escape for everyone in the Yampa Valley.

Bud Werner was an internationally renowned alpine ski racer who died trying to outrace an avalanche in the Swiss Alps on April 12, 1964. Contributions from all over the world were given in Buddy's memory and used to build a new public library for the community of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The Bud Werner Memorial Library opened its doors with a dedication ceremony on February 4, 1967.

Bud Werner Memorial Library believes in literacy, learning and creating an environment that encourages and empowers others to improve themselves and increase their knowledge, spark curiosity and support individual growth. While hosting an inspiring collection of films, the show is also an opportunity to immerse in stories and experiences that support lifelong learning.
