Mountainfilm on Tour – Asheville & Salisbury, NC
Mountainfilm on Tour showcases a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the annual Mountainfilm festival held in Telluride, Colorado.
In lieu of a traditional in-person gathering, Muddy Sneakers will be hosting a virtual screening of Mountainfilm on Tour with an inspiring program of films that explore themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission of using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.
Muddy Sneakers has been hosting Mountainfilm on Tour for the past 3 years and has been working to inspire the joy of learning outside to students across North Carolina. Muddy Sneakers is a North Carolina born award-winning outdoor science education non-profit founded 13 years ago in Brevard. Our mission is to awaken in children a deeply felt connection with the natural world--one that inspires curiosity, stimulates learning, and brings new life to classroom performance. Though thousands of children in NC grow up near a remarkable array of protected lands, many students never set foot in the public parks and forests in their communities. While hosting an inspiring collection of films, the show is also a fundraising opportunity to support thousands of children from all backgrounds forever enhancing their connection to neighboring natural resources.
